MY BIO

Singer - Artist - Architecture Graduate - Designer

I am an artist, architecture graduate, musician and designer from Gqeberha, currently based in Johannesburg. I chose to study architecture as an extension of my artistic and social desire to understand the fundamental elements of community, space and art and how they all come together. I spent the years after my graduation cultivating my artist identity, leading me to collaborate with different artists in different mediums. I was fortunate enough to start a music career in 2016 and formed part of a live band called ZA'frotronixx, consisting of three Ivorian brothers and myself, based in Gqeberha. We were an afro soul/ reggae and alternative house band that gained local popularity. This experience led to the release of my first solo project in 2019 while simultaneously graduating with a bachelor of architectural studies.

I moved to Berlin in 2019 where I had the honour of releasing singles featured on Berlin Music Commission Compilations, performing at music festivals, forming international collectives, co-creating women and queer-focused events and creating art. I moved to Johannesburg in 2022 where I'm currently making music with my band, "The ArcSound". A group of South African artists that make Afrosoul/Alternative House and R&B music.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN...

ZA’frotronixx is a band made up of 3 brothers (who go by The Afrotronixx) from Côte d'Ivoire and myself. Our music is a fusion of afrobeat, house, R&B, hip hop and afropop. I’m the vocalist and the brothers produce the music as well as play the bass, keyboard and drums. We started very randomly after meeting at a recording session I was at. We decided to form a band and had a gig 2 days later. We combined Zani with Afrotronixx to form ZA’frotronixx and this was the beginning of my music career.
